Weight LoDespite what you feel, losing weight is not a mysterious process. It is a simple matter of burning more calories than you consume. Losing weight can be a struggle that we began to think we have to do something drastic to show results - diets, pills or strange fitness equipment infomercials that promise instant success. The real secret of weight lo is as follows: Make small changes each day and slowly (but surely) lose those extra weight. The key is to forget about immediate results and set out in the long term.

To lose one pound of fat, you burn about 3500 calories compared to what you've already burned daily activities. It seems that many calories, and you certainly would not want to try to burn 3500 calories per day. But taking things step by step, you can determine exactly what you do every day to burn or cut the extra calories. Below is a step by step process to begin.

Calculate your BMR (basal metabolic rate). Your BMR is what your body needs to maintain normal functions like breathing and digestion. This is the smallest number of calories you should eat each day. Remember that the calculator is not 100% accurate, so you may need to change these figures down the road.

Calculate the level of activity. Use the calorie calculator to find out how many calories you burn while sitting, standing, exercising, lifting weights, etc. throughout the day. Help keep the daily operations of the magazine or you can also use a heart rate monitor that calculates calories burned.

Keep track of how many calories you eat. You can use a website or use a food diary to record what you eat and drink each day. Be as specific as possible when measuring or find nutrition information for restaurants, if you eat.

Add it up. Take your BMR number, add your activity calories, then drag your calories from foods. If you eat more than you burn (BMR + your business is 2000 and you eat 2400 calories) you need to gain weight. If you burn more than you eat, you will lose weight.
