The Perfect Homeowner’s Tree Trimming Pal

Well this is a dandy saw for suburban folks like us, doing some yard work. It’s nice and light, cuts right through what we need to and has the safety feature of not being able to use the tip. Now if you’re accustomed to a gas chain saw, this might seem like a flaw. But, by not cutting with just the tip of the saw (which you really should not do) you eliminate the chance of a dangerous kick-back. For us tree-trimming weekend warrior homeowners, the saw is just fine. As for the corded part of it, that’s fine, we’re not Paul Bunyan, out in the forest somewhere without a power outlet. If the weather creates conditions that incur a power outage, we can always plug it into the generator and still take care of any fallen tree limbs that need to be cleaned up.

Best handling chain saw ever built. Really works.

I am totally impressed. This saw will cut down and dismember 14″ diameter tree trunks with ease. It is well balanced and weighs no more than an electric hedge trimmer but with lots more power! Mine came fully assembled and ready to run; just add chain oil to the reservoir and go. But remember to read the directions and follow them carefully. There are a lot of do’s and don’ts with chain saws and this one is no different. Beyond that the maintenance is amazingly simple. Using only the green wheel on the side you can adjust the chain tension and take it apart for cleaning. Very simple.

Well working saw for all my backyard needs…

It is my first chainsaw and I only use it for limbs of trees in our backyard, nothing bigger than 10 inches in diameter. For that it worked great so far, it is very quiet compare to my brothers gas engine powered one and there is (for me) no need for hearing protection when using this saw. The housing is all plastic which seems to be sturdy enough and the parts are fitting well together.

High praise of an electric chain saw

I bought the saw to clear small trees that were growing in my yard. Most of the trees were four inches thick. The saw worked great on those trees. I was able, by my self, to trim, clear and pile a yard full of small trees in 2.5 hours. It is great for inner city yard work.

Absolutely the most powerful electric 16 inch saw I have ever used. My McCulloch was great and my Remington was ok, but this item is FANTATISC! Excellent power (4.5 hp) to clear the back 40 and light enough to take up in a tree. Very quiet operation. The customer service was also outstanding from the manufacturer. This item is so new that they have not had a lot of feedback yet. The only thing I found as a slight negative was that nowhere in the user’s manual or anywhere else do they tell you how many links to order for a replacement chain. They are correcting that with the new printing of the user’s manual. When I do replace the chain, my local Oregon dealer will have the appropriate size. Once done, I will just mark the manual accordingly. The way this thing cuts it might be a while before I need a new chain though! This is a great product at a reasonable price!

The recent super snow storm left broken trees all over my one acre property. I also had most of a medium sized juniper down over the front sidewalk. After two days of cutting and trimming I can say this is a great unit. It made short work of logs 10″ – 12″ across, and the smaller stuff took seconds to cut into manageable sizes. I even did some work with it on a ladder (very carefully), and I was able to handle it easily. The bigger job was hauling the debris away, not the cutting. Another plus is that the chain tensioner is quick and easy to set. This saves time and keeps you working.

Easy and Light!

I had several small trees to clear and this product exceeded my expectations in performance – getting the job done with very little effort. I was surprised by its light weight and the power available from this compact product.
