Imported from China, our Golden Gate Ficus have been meticulously trained for wonderful truck movement. The Chinese have hand-wired every tree to create the trunks' beautiful swirl. The small dark green leaves make the Golden Ficus perfectly suited for bonsai. In the ficus family, this variety is the best for growing indoors.

Tree came in very healthy and pretty, looks like the picture (they form all these trees to look like the picture). However their watering instructions and other reports online for watering were very different then what this tree wanted. My tree lost 96% of its leaves before I was able to find its happy medium of temperature, light, and water. I have “Mr. Light Desk Top Plant Light with Built-In Tray” for the light set up on a timer, and my plant is very very picky about temp swings and drafts so he is in the kitchen, and he likes water every 3-4-sometimes 5 days. I dont water a set time, I wait till the soil is starting to turn a lighter brown where it looks like the next two days it would be dry then I water.

Amazing

Awesome!! These trees are just great, came super well packaged and in great condition. Bought one for me and a friend. The two lost a few leaves in the first few days (as expected) but quickly recovered. I will definitely be buying more and recommending them to anyone interested in Bonsai. They are the perfect tree for beginners or anyone. They are big enough to pass over the fragile first couple years, which is often the hardest from what I’ve read and experienced, but small enough yet to do quite a bit of styling and really see some progress. Came in a really nice pot as well. We added moss to them to help keep in moisture and really give them a cool look.

Excellent condition!

My Bonsai arrived on time and in perfect shape. It was obvious that the tree was packaged carefully with care. It looked exactly like the picture, if not with more foliage! Be careful when watering that you don’t displace the stones, as it is easy to do if you are doing so too fast. I can’t wait for my little baby Bonsai to grow up. I nicknamed him “Professor Bonsai”, as he is to be very wise one day. Can’t wait to get more!

I am very happy with this ficus bonsai

I am very happy with this ficus bonsai. It was trained in a way that it has a characteristic “bonsai bend.” I also like this type of ficus because it has smaller leaves than other ficus plants, making it a more ideal bonsai plant.

I don’t know much about bonsai but this one is still alive and growing. Just waiting to see if I can do what’s necessary to get it through our Wyoming winter. Will try shaping etc. next spring.
